Department of Professional Education and Education of Adults

The Department was established in January 1997 as the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Vocational and Technical Education. Since November 2008 – the Department of VocationalEducation and Adult Education.

The main areas of research of the Department′s scientists:

• andragogy, pedagogy and museum pedagogy as subdisciplines of modern science;

• development of domestic and foreign teacher training systems and adult education;

• training of pedagogical personnel for work with adults;

• theory and practice of development and self-development of pedagogical skills of a teacher;

• theoretical substantiation of legislative support for adult education;

• theory and practice of informal adult education;

• psychological support for training and education of various categories of adult population;

• professional counselling at different stages of professional development of an individual;

• theoretical and methodological principles of professional pedagogy, professionology and labour pedagogy;

• theory and methodology of vocational education; didactics of vocational education;

• methodological principles of standardization of the content of vocational and professional pre-higher education;

• development of innovative processes in the system of vocational (vocational and technical) and professional pre-higher education;

• professional and personal development of future specialists;

• theoretical and didactic principles of creating electronic educational resources, electronic textbooks and manuals.

The scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Department are carried out by:
