Department of Philosophy of Education, General and Preschool Pedagogy

The Department was established by the decision of the General Meeting of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine on November 18, 1992.

The main areas of research of the Department′s scientists are:

• Philosophy of Education in the System of Socio-Humanitarian Knowledge.
• Educational Methodology.
• Theory and History of the Development of Ukrainian and Foreign Pedagogic Science.
• Theoretical and Methodological Principles of Education and Socialization of a Growing Personality.
• Administrative and Technological Factors of Educational Development.

The Department′s scientific and scientific-organizational activities are carried out by:

• Institute of Educational Problems.
• Institute of Pedagogy (4 departments);
• V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine

The following operate on a self-financing basis within the Department:

• Research Center for Pedagogical Local History (jointly with Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University).
• Research Center for Problems of Social Pedagogy and Social Work (jointly with Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University).
