On September 10, at a Meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences (NAES) of Ukraine chaired by the NAES President Vasyl Kremen, the proposal to confer the title of "Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine" upon Mykola Zhulynskyi was considered. Zhulynskyi is the Director of the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine, and a prominent Ukrainian literary scholar and politician.

The nomination was presented by Nellia Nychkalo, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Professional and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. Mykola Sliusarevskyi, Director of the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the NAES of Ukraine, delivered a speech in support of the nomination, as did the NAES President Vasyl Kremen. Academicians who spoke highlighted the nominee′s significant contributions to the Ukrainian people and the state. His scholarly authority, exceptional professionalism in high-level government roles, responsible and impactful civic engagement, and personal qualities as a patriot and thinker—these traits, as the speakers attested, define this outstanding Ukrainian; indeed, the Honorary Doctorate is, if anything, a long-overdue recognition for such a distinguished figure. 

The Presidium voted unanimously in favour. The NAES President Vasyl Kremen presented Academician Mykola Zhulynskyi with the diploma of "Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine." 

In his remarks of gratitude, Academician Mykola Zhulynskyi reflected on his life’s journey—noting that his professional career began as a teacher—and emphasized the vital role of education, and by extension pedagogical science, in shaping the individual and society. Mykola Zhulynskyi wished success to all the scientific institutions of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and assured that the path ahead would be marked by even closer cooperation.
