On July 16, a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine was held, at which the “National Report on the State and Prospects for the Development of Education in Ukraine (To the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence)” was presented.

The Report was made by VolodymyrLugovyy, the First Vice-President, Acting Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. He noted that the publication provided a comprehensive analysis of the state and development of national education over the 35-year period of Ukraine’s Independence. Special attention was paid to the stage of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, in particular the activities of educators and scientists in resisting full-scale russian military aggression.

The publication identifies current problems in the educational sphere, reveals the causes of their occurrence, and proposes scientifically substantiated ways to restore and develop national education in the face of crisis challenges and threats, in the context of globalization, European integration, and the protection of national sovereignty. VolodymyrLugovyy emphasized that the publication has a significant comparative component presented in numerous graphs and diagrams.

VasylKremen, the President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, noted that serious analytical activity in the aspect of preparing National Reports in the field of education has been going on for more than one decade. The first such publication was published in 2011. That is why the materials of the book are not only interesting in their depth, but also represent the experience of the difficult years of building an independent Ukraine, allow for comparisons of development periods, and ultimately serve as a fixer of the results of a certain quest for the entire education of Ukraine and scientists of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine in particular.

VasylKremen emphasized that the publication will have a paper version for the purpose of distribution among legislators, state administrators, heads of educational institutions, pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers, and the general public.

Having considered the presented National Report, the Presidium approved the project.

In the near future, the “National Report on the State and Prospects for the Development of Education in Ukraine (To the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence)” will be posted on the official website of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (https://naps.gov.ua/ua/activities/plans-reports/ ), the Electronic Library of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (https://lib.iitta.gov.ua/).
