The Institute for Digitalization of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine held a three-day Digital Educational Marathon “Artificial Intelligence in the Work of an Innovative Teacher”

On May 5-7, the Digital Educational Marathon “Artificial Intelligence in the Work of an Innovative Teacher” was held, which was attended by more than 230 teachers and lecturers from educational institutions of Ukraine. The initiator and organizer of the event was Svitlana Lytvynova, Doctor of Sciences in Pedagogic Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute for Digitalization of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.

The aim of the event was to explore the potential of artificial intelligence as an intellectual assistant, enabling the automation of routine tasks, the intensification of learning, and the implementation of innovative approaches to teaching various subjects.

In the conditions of rapid digitalization of education, artificial intelligence has ceased to be a technology of the future, turning into a real tool that radically changes approaches to learning. The modern innovative teacher faces the challenge of not only mastering new services, but also integrating them into a safe and effective educational environment. The relevance of the marathon is due to the need for teachers to have practical skills in using AI to intensify lessons and automate routine processes. Artificial intelligence opens up unprecedented opportunities for personalizing learning, creating adaptive content, and developing students′ critical thinking. At the same time, issues of ethics, rules of the "game," and security of the digital space remain critically important for modern schools.

The marathon served as a platform for exchanging experience between researchers and practitioners who are already implementing Gemini, NotebookLM and other AI solutions in their work. It is this comprehensive approach that allows teachers to remain thought leaders in a world that is transforming under the influence of high technology.

The marathon culminated in the creation of a case study on an innovative teacher, which served as the practical outcome of three days of intensive collaboration between academics and educators.

This case combined the following developments:

- Methodological designer: algorithms for using AI as a "lesson designer" for modelling modern classes.

- Technological stack: a list of proven tools, such as Gemini, NotebookLM, Copilot, Claude and Chalkie, adapted to the needs of Ukrainian schools.

- Subject base of prompts: ready-made queries for teachers of biology, mathematics, computer science, chemistry and foreign languages.

- Intensification scenarios: methods for reducing time for routine work and creating effective educational tasks.

- Security protocols: recommendations for organizing a safe digital educational space.

- Innovative management models: experience in integrating digital tandems into the life of an educational institution.

- STEM solutions: cases of AI application in engineering design and educational research.

The educational case became the foundation for further transformation of the educational process of more than 230 participants of the event.
