On 12 March 2026, elections were held for the post of Director of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Education and Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. 

Forty-seven (94.0%) of the Institute’s 50 full-time research staff took part in the election. 

Forty-four voters cast their ballots for Lesya Ivanivna Prokhorenko, Doctor of Sciences in Psychology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, representing 93.6% of the votes cast by the research staff present at the election. 

Following the election results, Lesya Ivanivna Prokhorenko was elected Director of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Education and Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
