On February 19, 1975 in accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the UkrSSR No.85 the V.O. Sukhomlinsky Pedagogical Memorial Museum was officially open in the village Pavlysh Onufrievskyi district of Kirovograd region.
The Museum has several features, the combination of which gives it to be unique. It is located in the main school building (where in 1940-1960 years were 2 classes and a hall), which during 22 years was led by Vasil Olexandrovich. The Museum has a unique collection, which was acknowledged by the public and Museum professionals. During its existence the Museum was visited by more than 380 thousand of our compatriots and guests from Belarus, Georgia, Baltic countries, Moldova, Russia, Australia, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Canada, China, Mongolia, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Turkey, Sweden, Japan and other countries.
The priority direction of activity of the Museum is the study and popularization of the life and work of Vasil Olexandrovich Sukhomlinsky, making the Museum one of the leading centres for contemporary Sukhomlinistika.
