
On May 30, a Joint meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences was held on the topic “Teaching Ukrainian children in Poland and Ukraine during the war: challenges, adaptation, support”.
The opening remarks were made by Vasyl Kremen, President of the National
Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy,
Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine,
Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
Agnieszka Cybal-Michalska, Chair of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences
of the Polish Academy of Sciences, made an introductory speech on behalf of the
Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The issues discussed at the Joint meeting were highlighted by speakers
from both sides.
Mykola Holovko, Deputy Director for Research of the Institute of Pedagogy
of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Sciences
in Pedagogy, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational
Sciences of Ukraine, presented the report “Teaching Ukrainian Children in
Ukraine during the War: Challenges, Adaptation, Support”. From the Polish side,
the report “Temporary Educational Solutions - Permanent Educational Challenges:
The “Invisible” Ukrainian School in Poland” was delivered by Pawel Rudnicki, Dr.
Habilitated, Professor Extraordinary, Lecturer at the University of Lower Silesia in Wroclaw, educator, political
scientist, co-founder of the EMCE research network, member of the Wroclaw
Education Council.
A participant of the panel “The Right of the Child to Free Time and
Leisure”; Chancellor of the International Chapter of the Order of the Smile,
member of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of
Sciences, Dr. Marek Michalak, presented information on World Children′s Day
(February 2025, Vatican).
Scientists from the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational
Sciences of Ukraine made informational presentations.
The presentations were followed by a lively discussion. The issues
discussed gradually went beyond the outlined topic. Polish scientists were
interested in many topics: from cooperation between the National Academy of Educational
Sciences of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and
Innovations, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to the
peculiarities of the New Ukrainian School and special education in Ukraine.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the Resolution of the joint
meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of
Ukraine and the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of
Sciences.
