In April 2025, the Academic Managers Professional Development Program, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine began, implemented by the British Council within the framework of the Joint Project "Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results" (IHEURP) with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The program is part of a wide range of measures aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of higher education institutions and promoting education reforms. The goal of IHEURP is to increase efficiency, improve conditions for ensuring the quality and transparency of Ukrainian higher education system. In the first cycle of the Program, more than 450 people - heads of higher and secondary levels from 61 higher education institutions belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and representing all regions of Ukraine participated in the training.

The Program involves the following researchers from the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine as experts: Iryna Drach, director of the Institute, Olena Orzhel and Natalia Shofolova, Senior Researchers of the University-Society Interaction Department; Svitlana Kalashnikova, Head of the Program′s Expert Group, Advisor to the Institute′s Directorate. Implementing the results of scientific research, the scientists of the IHE conduct trainings on university autonomy, governance and leadership, open science, areas of interaction and models of communication between universities and communities, social responsibility, and the third university mission.
