On May 17, 2024 the Meeting of the International Association of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities of Europe began, which was attended by the president of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Academician Vasyl KREMEN.

The President of the International Association, Rector of Drahomanov Ukrainian State University Academician Viktor ANDRUSHENKO addressed the audience with an opening speech. Greetings from the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine were addressed to the meeting participants. 

The presentation of the Report on the activities of the International Association of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities of Europe was made by the executive director of the Association, vice-rector for international relations of Dragomanov Ukrainian State University Volodymyr LAVRYNENKO. 

In his speech the President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl KREMEN emphasized the importance of the activities of the International Association of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities of Europe in particular in connection with the mission of pedagogical universities - the formation of teachers with European values, an understanding of civilizational progress, teachers who seek the unification of democratic forces in the fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation and the politics of totalitarianism and genocide. Vasyl KREMEN expressed his gratitude to Ukrainian teachers and hope for the stability of European society in solidarity with Ukraine′s struggle. 

The well-known Ukrainian scientists and public figures also spoke: the Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Academician Oleg RAFALSKY, Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Honorary Professor of Drahomanov Ukrainian State University Moritz GUNZINGER, Ukrainian diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2007–2009) Volodymyr OGRYZKO, Foreign member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Commissioner for Development of the Academy of Special Pedagogy named after Maria Grzegorzewska in Warsaw (Poland) Jan LASCHYK and other distinguished guests.
