It was stated that the military aggression of the Russian Federation caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Children are the most affected by the war. The main traumatic factors for children are threats to life and health, death of relatives, physical injuries. Children in Ukraine are constantly exposed to danger due to massive enemy shelling, damage to the power system, water pipes, heat supply, destruction of schools, hospitals, use of explosive devices by the occupiers, etc. Children cannot receive proper medical care due to the constant shelling and systematic destruction of infrastructure. The situation in the temporarily occupied territories is critical, where children′s humanitarian rights are violated, Russian standards of education and educational programs are implemented, children are recruited into paramilitary movements, military training is carried out in educational institutions.
Crimes of the russian army committed against Ukrainian children - documented facts of death and injury during attempts to evacuate from dangerous regions of Ukraine, mutilation of children, deportation, abduction and illegal detention. According to the National Information Bureau, as of June 7, 2023, 485 children were killed, 1.005 were injured; 390 children disappeared; 19.5 thousand were deported. 28 cases of limb amputations in children were recorded.
The right of children and young people to receive education has been violated. As of December 31, 2022, 3.120 educational institutions were damaged by enemy bombing and shelling, 377 were completely destroyed.
