Address of the President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen to the scientific and educational community 

We have all been waiting with great hope and tension for the decision of the European Council to approve the status of a candidate for EU membership for Ukraine.

And not only because, as the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted “We will definitely win. Ukraine′s future is in the EU". And also because we have been working for the official return to the European world and unification with the EU all the years of independence.

The leaders of the society of independent Ukraine faced difficult tasks - reviving the self-consciousness of Ukrainians as a European nation (it is no secret that for 300 years the enemy tried to destroy not only the best representatives of the nation, language, mentality of freedom and responsibility, entrepreneurship, but also the memory of the Ukrainian nation), educating the younger generation in the spirit of European and universal values ​​and finally proving to Europeans our common identity.

We warmly welcome the assertion of EU candidate status for Ukraine. And with us are all our partners in scientific and educational cooperation from all countries of the European Union, with whom we have a long and fruitful relationship.

This day will go down in history not only as a solemn holiday. This is a milestone that begins a new stage of hard work and struggle in the life and work of all of Ukraine, including the Academy.

The NAES of Ukraine scientists understand the full responsibility and significance of the new status and are ready to expand research, deepen cooperation with European partners and further resist the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and the genocide of the Ukrainian nation in the name of a common European future.
