On May 4, a joint meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of
Sciences of Ukraine and the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational
Sciences of Ukraine on the
"Assessment of the socio-psychological state of the population of Ukraine
during the war." The meeting was chaired by the President of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatoliy Zagorodniy.
Serhiy Dembitsky, Doctor of Sociology, Leading Research Fellow at the
Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and

Ukraine.
According to the results of these studies, the process of formation of
territorial and state identity of citizens was actively taking place in
Ukraine, the main basis of which is the awareness of the imperative of
independence of our state. In mid-February 2022, this process, according to
many sociological indicators, approached its maximum. Thus, 79.2% of citizens
believed that although there are many obstacles in the way of our statehood,
Ukraine should still be independent. It is noted that in conditions of war,
factors related to the morale and psychological state of people become
especially important for victory. First of all, it is about their unity, faith
in victory, support for the army and political leadership of Ukraine.
People′s Deputy of Ukraine Victoria Podgorna, President of the National
Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen, members of the
Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academicians Yaroslav
Yatskiv, Vadym Loktev and others took part in the discussion of the reports.
The discussion praised the timeliness and depth of research of scientific
institutions of the two academies. Victoria Podgorna drew attention to the need
to publish a joint report on both studies and bring it to the attention of all
Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Vasyl Kremen stressed the success
of the joint report and noted the importance of uniting the efforts of powerful
institutions in the field of sociology and social psychology of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Educational Sciences
of Ukraine.
In general, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
and the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine
state that the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine has many
devastating consequences for the citizens of our country. But at the same time
in Ukrainian society there are significant positive changes of
socio-psychological nature, caused by the activation of mobilization resources
of citizens. In view of this, one of the important and relevant research areas
in the field of social sciences and humanities is the study of the
socio-psychological state of the population of Ukraine.
Participants of the joint meeting of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine
and the NAES of Ukraine approved the work of scientists from the Institute of
Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine and the Institute of Social and Political
