On March 18, 2021, at the meeting of the Presidium of the NAES of Ukraine, the issue of establishing a Centre for Innovative Development of Higher Education of the Department of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine was considered. Academician-Secretary of the Department of Higher Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Petro Saukh informed the members of the Presidium of this issue.

The purpose of the Centre is to carry out in-depth monitoring and sociological research on the quality of higher education in higher education institutions.

Among the main functions of the Centre is to study the attitude of students to the quality of teaching educational programs and courses, the attitude of teachers to the effectiveness of the educational process and effective management of research, design and business activities at universities, as well as proposals for their improvement; knowledge and skills of graduates who go to their first job and are necessary for their employees; studying the level of satisfaction of graduates with the received education and proposals for its improvement.

The main tasks of the Centre should be to determine the systemic factors in the formation of the strategy of innovative development of higher education institutions; study of innovative technologies of top universities and dissemination of the best examples of scientific and pedagogical experience; independent monitoring of the quality of higher education and determination of the influence of the main determinants on the quality of higher education in Ukraine, compliance with its objectives of sustainable innovative development of society; promoting and disseminating information about positive examples of transforming forward-looking ideas into an innovative product.

The Centre will operate on a voluntary basis and will not have the status of a legal entity.
