To find out the peculiarities of distance learning of foreign languages in general secondary education during quarantine, the staff of the Department of Foreign Languages Teaching of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine conducted a survey of teachers of experimental schools in different regions of Ukraine. According to its results, teachers, pupils and their parents were not quite ready for such a long form of education in general and for distance learning and foreign languages learning in particular. Given the lack of previous experience of large-scale transition to distance learning, teachers needed some time to study, analyze and choice of technologies, methods and means of distance education. Most pupils, however, were the most prepared for distance learning, but not all. It was easier for pupils to use the platforms they already knew, with which they had previously worked before quarantine.
