On February 18, 2021, the President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen and the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to consolidate efforts of the Parties to protect the Ukrainian language as the state language and to create conditions for its further establishment and development as the state language, as well as to ensure and protect the language needs of Ukrainian citizens.

The subject of the Memorandum is to coordinate efforts and joint activities of the Parties, which carry out in the format of preparation and implementation of joint activities and projects. In particular, promoting the acquisition of the Ukrainian language through the publication of textbooks, manuals of the Ukrainian language, the creation of Ukrainian terminological vocabulary, including ensuring the right to study in sign language and to learn Ukrainian sign language for the hearing impaired.
