By the decision of the Academic Council of Izmail State University of Humanities of November 26, 2020 the name of Alexandra Savchenko, Academician-Founder of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Head of Vasyl Sukhomlynsky All Ukrainian Association, Laureate of the State Prize in Education, is given to the educational and scientific laboratory "Innovations in primary education", which operates at the pedagogical faculty of the University. Oleksandra Savchenko, who recently, unfortunately, passed away prematurely, is one of the brightest among many successful graduates of the pedagogical faculty of Izmail State University of Humanities in the 80-year-old history of this educational institution.

At the initiative of the Rector′s Office, it is planned to create a museum exposition dedicated to the scientific and practical achievements and innovative ideas of Oleksandra Savchenko. Rector of Izmail State University of Humanities Yaroslav Kichuk initiated the establishment of Olexandra Savchenko Prize for teachers, teachers-innovators, to award annually for outstanding research in the field of primary education innovations. In order to encourage students and graduate students to educational, professional and scientific-pedagogical creativity in the implementation of the concept of "New Ukrainian School" it is initiated to award Olexandra Savchenko scholarship.
