On November 18, a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine was held to discuss important issues, including "On the implementation of the Program of joint activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for 2017-2020" and "On the draft Program of joint activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the NAES of Ukraine for 2021-2023”Volodymyr Luhovyi, the First Vice-President, Acting Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine reported.

Implementation of the Program of joint activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine for 2017-2020 provided for the implementation of measures in the following areas: "General problems of educational space development", "Preschool and general secondary education", "Extracurricular education and work". Professional (Vocational) education"," Higher education"," Pedagogical and adult education ", “Psychological support of education"," Management of educational and scientific activities, information support of education ","International cooperation" and

"Conducting joint scientific and practical mass events ».

Among the general problems of educational space development, one of the priority tasks was to improve the legislation of Ukraine in the field of education. Scientists of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine together with the specialists of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine worked on drafting laws of Ukraine "On Education" (the law was adopted on September 5, 2017 № 2145-VIII), "On Complete General Secondary Education" (the law was adopted on January 16, 2020 № 463- IX), "On professional higher education" (from June 6, 2019 № 2745-VIII), "On professional (vocational) education", "On amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On extracurricular education "," On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on the improvement of educational activities in the field of higher education", "On adult education", etc.

Conceptual and normative documents in the field of education were developed. Scientists of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine took part in the development of proposals for draft state standards (State Standard of Primary Education, State Standard of Basic Secondary Education, updated Basic Component of Preschool Education, Standard of Specialized Education), strategies (Higher Education Development Strategy of Ukraine for 2021-2031, Strategy for the development of professional (vocational) education for the period up to 2023, Strategy for the development of civic education for the period up to 2030, etc.), resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, curricula, professional standards, etc.
