On October 25, 2016 the Agreement between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, signed by the Director-General  Ms Irina Bokova, concerning the establishment of a UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Professional Education in the XXI Century.

The purpose of the Chair shall be to promotean integrated system of research, training, information and documentation on pedagogy and adult lifelong learning and training. It will facilitate collaboration between high-level, internationally-recognized researchers and teaching staff of the Academy and of other institutions in Ukraine and in Europe and North America, as well as in other regions of the world.

UNESCO agrees with the proposal to appoint Dr Sotska Galina Ivanivna as Chairholder.
