STATUTE OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES OF UKRAINE

General provisions
1. The National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the NAES of Ukraine), established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No.124 on March 4, 1992, is a self-governing scientific organization in the field of education, pedagogy and psychology, founded on state property and established as a non-profit state budgetary institution. .
The status of National was granted to the Academy by the Decree No.259 of the President of Ukraine on February 24, 2010.
The National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine conducts its activity in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, the legislation of Ukraine, this Statute and the acts adopted by the governing bodies of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
The self-governing of the NAES of Ukraine is in:
1) self-determination of topics of fundamental and applied scientific researches and scientific and technical (experimental) developments, forms of organization and carrying out fundamental and applied scientific researches and scientific and technical (experimental) developments, forming of its structure, taking decision of scientific and organizational, economic, personnel issues, realization of international scientific relations;
2) electivity and collegiality of governing bodies, performing by the General Meeting of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine functions as the highest governing body.
2. The National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine has within its structure Presidium, Presidium apparatus, departments coordinating the activities of scientific institutions, organizations, educational institutions, libraries, museums, etc. (hereinafter referred to as scientific institutions), providing activities and being in charge of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
The personnel of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine includes 78 full members (academicians), 92 corresponding members, as well as 35 foreign members, honorary academics and employees of scientific institutions.
3. The NAES of Ukraine coordinates, organizes and conducts researches in the field of education, pedagogy and psychology. It cooperates with the central body of executive power providing forming and implementation of the state policy in the field of education and science, the central body of executive power ensuring formation and implementation the state policy in the sphere of state supervision (control) the proper quality of education and educational activity. The NAES of Ukraine interacts with state bodies in the sphere of management, other central bodies of executive power, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, other national branch academies of sciences, state institutions, organizations, enterprises, educational establishments and public associations of Ukraine, scientific institutions and educational establishments of foreign countries. It collaborates with international organizations in the field of education and science for the purpose of fulfilment the tasks defined by the state priorities in these areas.
