On November 23, 2020, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Primary Education of the Institute was named after Oleksandra Savchenko.

Oleksandra Savchenko devoted most of her life to the issue of primary education, was the author of numerous textbooks for primary, including the New Ukrainian School, the author of the first Ukrainian (authentic) textbooks for four-year primary school (6 years), as well as methodological and methodical works for teachers and high school.

Her name is forever inscribed in the history of education in Ukraine and the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
